Our plan is to provide temporary housing, meals, and assistance on finding resources to help displaced men, women, and children find housing, work, food, and living skills.
The issue of homelessness in Butler County Kansas is far greater than many know. It is estimated that over 350 Butler County citizens are homeless right now. The most rapidly increasing group is homeless families with children who are employed but unable to afford housing.
This is a community issue, not just an individuals problem. Rather than have our homeless citizens feel hopeless and forgotten, leading to addiction and criminal activity, we can provide hope, support, resource information, and an overall new lease on life, leading to productive, valued members of the community system.
Please feel free to browse our links for more information on our staff, plan, events, and how you can help. Power Point and printable pamphlet are provided below on this page.

There will be many costs involved in the operation of the home. The greatest of these costs will be establishing the home to begin with. First off we need to buy the building and remodel it for efficient use, then we can begin to house and feed. We are Butler Homeless Initiative, made up of professional and devoted community members, we feel extremely confident in our plan.
This goal is reachable. With the cooperation and generosity of federal and state grants, local businesses and organizations, and community members, we can and will make this happen.
All citizens of Butler County deserve to live well. All families deserve to stay together. Each day we go without reaching this goal is another night some of our fellow men, women, and children sleep outside, in a car, or on someones couch, wondering when their welcome will be worn out. .
